For the past six years, CalSOAP LA has worked under the East Los Angeles College (ELAC) Foundation as our fiscal agent. As of July 1, 2026, CalSOAP moves to Cal State LA.
I express the deepest gratitude to the ELAC Foundation as they helped our CALSOAP program thrive for the last years six years. The ELAC Foundation will continue to support us by serving on our governing board. The move is bittersweet as we will leave co-workers who have become family, but I know that our work will intersect in the future.
But every end signifies a new beginning and the CALSOAP LA team is excited about starting a new chapter with Cal State LA. Cal State LA has been a long-standing partner of CALSOAP in the Los Angeles area and we are happy to continue strengthening this relationship. Our work will continue to be strongly guided by the mission of our funder, the California Student Aid Commission, “making education beyond high school financially accessible to all Californians.” To this end, we work with ALL high school students (regardless of GPA or residency) to help them achieve their post-secondary dreams. I am confident that Cal State LA will continue supporting us in achieving this mission.
