Cal-SOAP l.a. is on the move...
For the past two years, Cal-SOAP L.A. has worked under Families In Schools (FIS) as our fiscal agent. As of July 1, 2020, Cal-SOAP L.A. moves to the East LA College (ELAC) Foundation.

I express the deepest gratitude to FIS as they saw our Cal-SOAP program through the crucial first two years of implementation. FIS will continue to support us by serving on our governing board. The move is bittersweet as we will leave co-workers who have become family, but I know that our work will intersect in the future.

But every end signifies a new beginning and the Cal-SOAP L.A. team is excited about starting a new chapter with the ELAC Foundation. ELAC has been a long-standing partner of Cal-SOAP in the Los Angeles area and we are happy to continue strengthening this relationship. Our work will continue to be strongly guided by the mission of our funder, the California Student Aid Commission, “making education beyond high school financially accessible to all Californians.”  To this end, we work with ALL high school students (regardless of GPA or residency) to help them achieve their post-secondary dreams.  I am confident that the ELAC Foundation will continue supporting us in achieving this mission.

Yicel Paez, Director of Cal-SOAP L.A.
