Today we honor #StudentSuccess Coach, Darlene Zarazu. Darlene is a first-generation college student with a passion for criminal and social justice. The team is so excited to see her continue to pursue her dreams and be a voice for change in her communities. Darlene coaches students at Huntington Park High School and South East High School.

My research on structural barriers that Latinx students face in our public education system was reviewed by Loyola’s Sociology department, the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, University President, and I was able to come out on the news and present my research to the Mayor and the Education Policy Office.
